This is where youâll be able to view and manage all the e-mail alerts you currently have set up, including when each notifier was last sent.
Step 4: Add a New Notifier â
To create a new e-mail alert, click Add New Notifier at the top of the page.
Step 5: Name your notifier âď¸
Give your notifier a title so itâs easy to recognise later (for example, âPre-procurement â Digital Transformationâ or âNew Tenders â Birmingham City Councilâ).
Step 6: Choose Your Notification Type đ˝
Use the Type of notification dropdown to choose what youâd like to be notified about: Pre-procurement, Pipelines, Tender and Contracts.
Notification Types:
-
Preâprocurement: Receive early alerts on potential future opportunities identified from strategic documents, meetings, and public announcements.
-

-
Tenders: Receive alerts for live tender opportunities currently open for submissions from our monitored sources.
-
Contracts: Be notified when existing contracts are nearing expiry so you can prepare for potential reâprocurement.
Step 7: Set Notification frequency đ
You can personalise your alert settings by choosing how often youâd like to receive your alerts.
Notification frequency:
Decide if youâd prefer to receive alerts on weekdays, every day orset a custom frequency, giving you the ability to select days that work best for you.
Pro tip - If youâre not sure, selecting âEvery dayâ can help make sure you donât miss anything.
Step 8: Filter by Favourite Buyers and Categories đ˘
To narrow down further your alerts, you can select your favourite buyers and choose specific categories based on your needs and interests.
Favourite buyers:
-
Group: Filter by specific groups like Local Government, NHS or Central Government to focus on particular buyer groups.
-
Regions: Choose the region of the UK that includes the authorities you wish to be notified about e.g. West Midlands or North West.
-
Refined Buyers: Select the specific name of buyer youâre interested in. You can select multiple buyers, based on your areas of focus. You may need to click into Refined Buyers first, before the full list of buyers appears.
Favourite categories:
-
Market: Choose one or multiple markets that your subscription covers and is related to our area of expertise.
For example, you can select Health & Social Care and ICT & BPO together or focus on a single market like Health & Social Care.
-
Categories: Filter by specific categories within those markets for a more targeted overview.
Important: Once youâve made your selections donât forget to click on Apply to save your choices.
You can always find detailed explanations of markets and categories in the Help Hub section, including how categories are defined and organised.
Step 9: Refine alerts using Keywords đ
Use the Keywords section to add specific terms you want to track in the contract notifications (eg Cloud, Digital Transformation, ERP).
This will ensure you receive alerts about opportunities related to or containing these keywords.
For any abbreviations like ââERPââ, make sure to include both the abbreviation and full term (ââenterprise resource planningââ) to avoid missing any opportunities.
Pro Tip - Add as many relevant keywords as possible (up to 50) to ensure you receive comprehensive alerts tailored to your interests. If you need more than 50 keywords, you can create a second notifier to cover additional terms.
Step 10: Tailor your notification preferences đ
Finally, make sure to tick the boxes for Emerging Opportunities, General Updates and Attachment Notifications and then select Only notify me, to receive tailored notifications based on your preferences.
Note: Emerging Opportunities preferences only apply to Pre-Procurement notifiers.
Step 11: Refine alerts using CPV codes (Pipelines, Tenders and Contracts) đ§ž
For Pipeline, Tender and Contract notifiers, you also have the option to add CPV codes to further narrow down your alerts.
CPV codes (Common Procurement Vocabulary) are standard category codes used by buyers to label and organise procurement activity. If you already know the CPV code(s) linked to the type of opportunity youâre looking for, adding them can help you filter your results more precisely.
Pro Tip - If you are unsure on which CPV codes to select, you can find the CPV codes relevant to you at the bottom of your Pipeline, Tender or Awarded Contract notices within the Insights platform.
Step 12: Setting up a Contract Ending Alert đ
For Contract Alerts, you can be notified when a contract is expiring from 3 months and up to 24 months in the future.
Select the type as 'Contracts' and using the 'Contracts Expiring In' options, select the timeframe on how far in advanced you wish to be notified on contracts expiring. These alerts can be set up weekly or monthly.
Step 13: Save your preferences đž
Once youâve customised all your alert settings, click Save to activate your e-mail alerts. Youâll now start receiving notifications directly in your e-mail inbox based on the criteria youâve set, keeping you informed about the latest pre-procurement opportunities.
