Printing & Publishing (inc Book Supply) – costs associated with printing and publishing services, including the printing of smart cards.
Sundry – this is the category of last resort. It is used when we have no idea what the invoice expenditure was for, usually because the supplier name has been redacted and the invoice does not have any other explanatory text.
Travel & Subsistence – expenses incurred relating to travel and associated costs.
Postage & Couriers – costs associated with post and couriers are categorised with this.
Recruitment & Temp agencies inc Welfare to Work - invoices for temporary staff are categorised with this.
Office Supplies – general office consumables e.g. paper.
Training – this is used for corporate training (not Education Services in schools/colleges).
Information & Research Services – expenditure relating to on-line information feeds and off-the-shelf information products.
Hotels – relating to subsistence, not homeless accommodation.
Voucher & Benefit Schemes – expenditure relating to employee benefit schemes such as childcare vouchers.
Marketing, Advertising & PR – this includes design and creative agencies, market research, expenditure on advertising and on PR and associated strategy.
Uniforms & Clothing – costs relating to the supply of uniforms and clothing.
Expenses/Payment Card – these are (usually unidentified) costs that are paid for by an expenses card.
Equipment Leasing – where a leasing invoice details the equipment purchased, the invoice is categorised under that equipment area e.g. plant, fleet services, ICT equipment. This category is used for unidentified leasing expenditure.
Furniture & Office Equipment inc AV – general furniture and office equipment. Excludes ICT, but includes AV equipment.
Subscriptions & Fees – subscriptions to professional bodies etc.
Education Services (not delivered by schools/colleges) – these are for things like music lessons, on-line learning services and any other educational services that are delivered by companies and charities (not schools/colleges).
Exam Fees – cost associated with exam fees and payments to exam boards.
Investigation Services - costs associated with investigation services.
Regulatory Services - costs associated with regulatory and other services e.g. NHS Improvement, Ofgem etc.
